Hexion To Highlight NextGen Epoxy Waterborne System At ABRAFATI 2017
Hexion Inc. (“Hexion” or the “Company”) will showcase its recently developed NextGen Epoxy™ Waterborne System at ABRAFATI 2017 in Sao Paulo, Brazil today. The NextGen EpoxyTM Waterborne system offers coatings performance comparable to solvent-borne systems while meeting stringent Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) regulations.
The key to the new system is a novel, water-soluble amine curing agent called EPIKURE™ Curing Agent 8530-W-75. This solvent-free curing agent has a lower equivalent weight which means that formulators can use less to cure the same amount of epoxy resin. This curing agent, when combined with EPI-REZ™ Resin 7520-WD-52, delivers lower VOC, faster dry and good hardness development. This NextGen Epoxy™ WB System can be used to formulate ultra-low VOC coatings (on concrete and on metal at less than 100 g/L VOC content).
